Your accommodation is a small boutique hotelwith a mix of traditional and contemporary architectural designs set amidst a large garden and a coconut grove in rural Sri Lanka. Depart to Sigiriya in the area best known as the ‘Cultural Triangle’ on a journey around 3 hours. Upon arrival check into your accommodation, a private hideaway set in a peaceful rural area surrounded by wilderness and paddy fields where wild elephants, elusive civet cats and peacocks roam free. This afternoon hike the Pidurangala Rock, a massive rock formation that is said to have been the royal temple at the time when King Kashyapa was at the helm of the Sigiriya fortress.
Rise early this morning to visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO Heritage site. This colossal Rock Fortress, also known as ‘Lion Rock’, is possibly Sri Lanka’s best-known attraction and one of its biggest drawcards. Remainder of your day is at leisure.
This morning drive to Arugam Bay on a journey of five and a half hours. Arugam Bay known locally as "Arugam Kudah", is a bay situated on the Indian Ocean in the dry zone of Sri Lanka's southeast coast. Due to its positioning, Arugam Bay has earned a name for surfing attracting many surfers across the world. Your accommodation here is 14 room villas surrounded by a tropical garden with a relaxed atmosphere.
Full day for surfing. Arugam Bay has a number of surf spots to select from including Whiskey point, main point, Elephant Rock and baby point. Your vehicle is available to travel 80km to any surfing point that you prefer.

Surf spots are scattered around the coast. 20km north to Arugam Bay along the coast is Whiskey point. Both main point and baby point are just round the corner 3km away, while Elephant Rock point is 6km down the coast to the south of Arugam Bay town. Rise early this morning for a full day jeep safari in Kumana National Park.Adjacent to the famous Yala National Park with access only from the east coast, Kumana National Park is a hidden wildlife reserve with viewing which are almost always private and an approximate an hour and a half drive from Arugam Bay. It is renowned for its avifauna, particularly its large flocks of migratory waterfowl and wading birds as well as for favourable sightings of the elusive Sri Lankan leopard
This morning drive to Kandy, a journey of around five hours. Kandy, the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings is also known as the hill capital. It belongs to the fabric of legends. While Sri Lanka was under Portuguese and Dutch rule, the Kings of Kandy remained defiant and independent. It was much later during the British rule that the city finally fell to the biggest Empire in the world. Today Kandy still retains touches of its colonial history in buildings along with its lovely centrepiece Kandy Lake.Head to your accommodation, located in hills 18 kms to the south of Kandy, on a 45-minute drive.
This morning visit a tea factory to witness the age-old tea making process. Remainder of your day is at leisure. Your accommodation is the perfect retreat to simply laze by the pool and do nothing. However, if you are after something more energetic, the peaceful and rural area around the property is perfect for walking and biking.
