SRI LANKA UNBOUND

COVID UPDATES

March 2022

Sri Lanka now open to vaccinated travellers

Sri Lanka has recently relaxed Coiv-19 protocols for visitors, making it much easier to visit.

 In brief the protocols are:

  • No quarantine required for fully vaccinated visitors.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers can stay at any type of accommodation.
  • No pre- or on-arrival Covid test required.
  • No minimum length of stay.
  • Mandatory local Covid insurance of US$12 is required. This is arranged and paid for through gov.lk (easy to do, just a couple clicks)
  • As before all visitors to apply for a visa online through gov.lk (also relatively easy and we can guide you)
  • You can access official information at https://www.srilanka.travel/helloagain/

With these relatively light protocols Sri Lanka is now easy to visit and we expect visitor numbers to steadily increase through 2022 before really taking off in 2023.

Lincoln has recently travelled to Sri Lanka and has written about the experience here. You can view our newly designed itineraries here and read general information about travel in Sri Lanka at this time on our post-Covid travel blog.

If you are interested in visiting Sri Lanka and would like us to prepare a customised itinerary, please submit an enquiry or send us an email with details of what you want to get out of your visit. Or call us on 1300 889 513.

We will continue to update this page as requirements are (hopefully) further eased.
