Kandy

The Kandy House

Nestled in a lush tropical garden, almost hidden away from the rest of the world is The Kandy House, a manor house built in 1804, now restored to an exclusive boutique hotel. This is an ideal getaway if you visit Kandy but want to be away from the rush of the city. Kandy is known for its World Heritage-listed and much revered Buddhist Temple, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. It’s a must see for any visitor to Kandy. Kandy House is easy half an hour drive from Kandy town.

This boutique hotel has nine beautifully decorated rooms, each named after a butterfly.  Traditional designs in furniture adorned with locally produced linen and material add colour as well as a unique sense of design that truly brings out a Kandyan flare. The bedrooms overlook the large pool that is surrounded by tropical plants including Bougainvillea’s, Bird of Paradise and large and colourful Heliconia. The pool and garden sit picturesquely against a backdrop if the surrounding tiered paddy fields that stretch to the horizon.

The culinary experience at the hotel is special. This hotel is ideal for honeymooners, couples and families with adult/older children as only children over 12 years are accommodated. Ideal to unwind and relax during your tour in Kandy. You can easily spend two nights here during a private tour of Sri Lanka and take some time to relax and enjoy your holiday.
