1ARRIVE COLOMBO

Arrive Colombo – Sri Lanka’s biggest city and also its capital. Transfer to the iconic Galle Face Hotel, a 150-year-old heritage hotel and landmark of the city.

2COLOMBO

Explore Colombo today with a gentle walking tour and city sightseeing. First, our resident expert guide, Mark Forbes, will introduce the buildings, bustling markets, and street snacks of Colombo on a city walk filled with anecdotes and stories. Later, a city tour will highlight Colombo’s major landmarks from Galle Face Green to the Old Parliament and the city’s temples.

3COLOMBO – SIGIRIYA

Drive to Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle and visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla, considered to be the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in the country and one of Sri Lanka’s eight UNESCO world heritage sites. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional village walk or bullock cart ride from the hotel.

4SIGIRIYA

Rise early to visit the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock. Make the energetic climb to the top of the rock for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside should you wish and marvel on the way up at the breathtaking cave frescoes. Afternoon at leisure.

5SIGIRIYA – MADULKELLE

Head to Sri Lanka’s tea country for a two-night stay at Madulkelle Tea & Eco Lodge – a plantation stay nestled on a picturesque tea estate with views of the Knuckles Mountain Ranges. Drive to Kandy. Explore the British Garrison Cemetery with a guided tour and visit the much-revered world-heritage listed Temple of the Sacred Tooth at the end of the day.

8KANDY

Uncover the secrets of Sri Lankan recipes during a cooking class followed by lunch, led by our welcoming host Suzy in her traditional kitchen with wood fire stove and clay pots. Explore the small temples and villages outside of Kandy during a gentle afternoon walking tour called Paddy & Pagoda Promenade.

9KANDY - GALY OYA

Depart for Gal Oya National Park – an undiscovered gem in Sri Lanka – and the only park in the country where you can safari by boat. Stay at Gal Oya Lodge in private bungalows set in the natural grasslands. Gal Oya Lodge is one of our top places to stay in Sri Lanka.

10GAL OYA

Rise early for a morning boat safari with a picnic breakfast. Look for elephants, birds and crocodiles during the three-hour boat safari. In the afternoon, join one of the lodge’s expert naturalists on a gentle bird walk.

11GAL OYA - TANGALLE

Drive to Tangalle and discover Sri Lanka’s beautiful coast and beaches. Spend two nights along the southernmost coastline, staying at a five-star resort set amidst a coconut plantation with glorious ocean views and beach access.

A full day at leisure to enjoy Sri Lanka’s beautiful coast and your luxury resort. 13TANGALLE – GALLE

Drive to Galle – a world-heritage city surrounded by an impressive rampart wall and bursting with history. Stay inside the walled city and discover Galle Fort with a gentle afternoon walk led by our local guide and character, Shanjei.

14GALLE – COLOMBO

Explore Galle on your own with a full day at leisure - Galle is an easy and pleasant place to discover on foot. Visit the city’s many boutiques, cafes and artisan workshops. In the evening, transfer to Colombo airport and depart.
